Measuring Computer Science Enthusiasm: Age and Gender Effects on Students' Interest
Measuring Computer Science Enthusiasm
Are younger children always the most curious about computer science? Not quite. Surveying more than 400 adolescents, this study found that enthusiasm dips during the early teen years, particularly for girls.
Encouragingly, students who started with the least interest often showed the biggest gains after a well-designed activity, a reminder that it is never too late to spark engagement.
